How to get to us:
By Train/Tube: We are within a short walking distance of Wimbledon train station (British Rail and District Line tube). Regular services run from Waterloo and Victoria. Regular tram services provide a fast and efficient link to Croydon.
By road: There is meter, on-street and multi-storey parking within walking distance of our office. Our office is just two miles from the A3, providing dual carriageway access to the M25 and national motorway network.
By Air: London Heathrow and London Gatwick are both within easy travelling distance by road and rail.
Press Complaints Commission
The Press Complaints Commission is an independent body which deals with complaints from members of the public about the editorial content of newspapers and magazines.
The service to the public is free and aims to be quick and easy. The PCC aims to deal with most complaints in just 35 working days and there is no cost to the people complaining.
The PCC completed the investigation of 3,325 complaints in 2006 - of which approximately two out of three were about accuracy in reporting. Nearly one in five related to intrusion into privacy of some sort. All complaints are investigated under the editors' Code of Practice, which binds all national and regional newspapers and magazines. The Code - drawn up by editors themselves - covers the way in which news is gathered and reported. It also provides special protection to particularly vulnerable groups of people such as children, hospital patients and those at risk of discrimination.
The PCC's main aim with any complaint which raises a possible breach of the Code of Practice is always to resolve it as quickly as possible. Because of its success in this, the Commission had to adjudicate on only 31 complaints in 2006. All those which were critical of a newspaper were published in full and with due prominence by the publication concerned.
As well as dealing with complaints, the PCC deals with a substantial number of calls from members of the public about its service and about its Code. Last year it dealt with approximately 8,550 enquiries by telephone, fax and email.
